Lionel Messi was caught up in a fight during Argentina game against Uruguay early today, MySportDab reports.
The Inter Miami player was the center of Argentina loss since their World Cup triumph in Qatar 2022.
During the Argentina Vs Uruguay match there was so much heated tension that saw Lionel Messi coming in to fight for his players.
The game was one which the Argentine national team were beaten on their home ground by their opponent.
Although they came into the match with the hype and success of going on an unbeaten run since lifting the FIFA World Cup.
Early today wasn’t a good one for them as their run came to an end in ground style which didn’t good down too well.
Lionel Messi took matters into his hands after getting himself involved in a fight that saw him holding a players neck.
The incident took place in the 19th minutes after a shuffle from a number of players from both teams before Lionel Messi jumped in.
He was seen elbowing a player before going on to hold his neck while the whole situation exploded.
They were all separated later on with the game put to a stop for the officials to access the situation and no red card was given.
Argentina went on to lose the game which Messi couldn’t make an impact despite playing the most of the match.
Goals from Arujo and Darwin Nunez was enough to hand Uruguay the needed victory 0-2 to boost their chances of making it to the World Cup.
