Turkish giants Besiktas have parted ways with former Manchester United and Ivorien center-back Eric Bailly just six months into his contract, MySportDab reports.
The club confirmed in an official statement the decision to release the 29-year-old from the club, bidding the player farewell.
The statement reads;
“The contract with Eric Bailly, the player of our first team, has been terminated by mutual agreement.
“We wish Eric Bailly success in his career. Regards. Besiktas JK”
The termination of Eric Bailly’s contract by Besiktas has been deemed controversial by the player’s agent Raphael Pimenta.
A fuming Pimenta argued Eric Bailly has been treated unjustly by the club hence he will take action against the club.
According to him, the club released Bailly because of his purported poor performance and incompatibility with the club – a stand that is quiet debatable as long his client is concerned.
Four other players have been released from the club with Bailly but Pimenta has argued his client suffered injury and did not have enough time to prove himself hence the contract termination is misplaced.
”This is quiet unfair and unjust to my client. He was injured and had no enough chance to play. You can’t lump him with your list of underperforming players. We will take necessary action.” Pimenta said.
Eric Bailly signed a one-year contract with Besiktas. He had six months remaining on his contract but as now been forced back into transfer market as a free agent.
He has been linked with move to his former club Villarreal where he shone bright before moving to Manchester United in 2016.
