Boniface Secures Fifth Consecutive Rookie Award with Stellar December

In a remarkable feat, Nigerian forward Victor Boniface secured his fifth consecutive Rookie of The Month award for December, capping off an outstanding season with Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old had previously clinched the award in August, September, October, and November, MySportDab Reports.

During December, Boniface showcased his prowess on the field, contributing three goals and two assists in three league appearances for Bayer Leverkusen under the management of Xabi Alonso.

His exceptional performances have solidified his impact, tallying nine goals in 15 league matches and adding four more goals in the UEFA Europa League this season.

The outstanding duo of Boniface and fellow Nigerian Nathan Tella played a pivotal role in helping Bayer Leverkusen secure the honorary title of “winter champions” for the first time since the 2009/10 campaign.

The team concluded the first half of the season atop the Bundesliga standings with 39 points from 15 games, boasting a four-point lead over nearest rivals Bayern, who have 35 points from 14 games.

As the only undefeated team in the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen’s stellar performance extends beyond domestic success. Xabi Alonso’s side progressed with a perfect record in the UEFA Europa League group stages and advanced to the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup.

Bayer Leverkusen’s 24-game unbeaten run at the start of the season matches the longest streak in German history, equaling Hamburg’s achievement in 1982/83.

Furthermore, the team set a club record with 42 goals scored in the Bundesliga after 15 matches. Their impressive 39-point tally is unprecedented at this stage of the season, highlighting their dominance.

Alonso’s managerial prowess is evident in Bayer Leverkusen’s average of 2.6 points per game this season, surpassing all other teams in Europe’s top five leagues.

With such remarkable achievements, Boniface and his teammates are poised for continued success in the second half of the season, setting high expectations for the aspiring Bundesliga champions.**
