Erik ten Hag Reveals Half-time Dressing Room Talk That Sparked Aston Villa Win

Man United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed his half-time dressing room talk that led to the dramatic comeback win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.

Manchester United produced a stunning second half performance to force Aston Villa to surrender their two-goal lead, and suffer their first epl defeat in seven games.

A costly defensive blunder saw United concede two quick goals within five minutes. The high-flying Unai Emery-led side raced into the lead in the 21at minute with McGinn’s free-kick goal.

Dendocker doubled the lead just five minutes later with a loose flick after a cornerkick.

With over 20 minutes to play for in the first half, United made no concrete effort to mount a response, and ended up being booed off the pitch as they went into the break trailing 2-0.

In the second half, a magical performance by the Red Devils sealed a second dramatic comeback for Erik ten Hag this season thanks to Man United young guns.

Alejandro Garnacho bagged a brace to peg back Aston Villa from their two-goal lead before Alejandro Garnacho scored his first Premier League goal in 15 games to complete the turnaround for Man United.

Speaking after the game, Erik ten Hag has revealed how he talked his players back into the game.

‘The atmosphere changed a lot from the first half to the second, but if you look at the first half you are losing because of two set plays, in moments where we were not so focused,’ the Dutchman told Amazon Prime.

I think already in the first half we played quite well, and kept trying and trying. At half-time I said to the team, “keep believing, and keep doing what we did, actually do even more.”

‘We needed to put more and more pressure on. At 1-2 then when we added pressure you see what happened.

The victory will come as a hug relief to Erik ten Hag, who has been under pressure following Man United’s dismal run so far this season.

United have never lost a Boxing Day fixture in the club’s history. A defeat against Aston Villa would have piled up the pressure under the Dutch gaffer.

United have been winless in their last three Premier League games before the clash. They will hope to continue on winning ways when they travel to City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.
