Bournemouth Vs Luton Premier League match was suspended after Luton captain Tom Lockyer suddenly collapsed on the field during the game, MySportDab reports.
Lockyer apparently suffered a brain injury as per reports and suddenly lost consciousness, plunging to the ground while the game was on.
Luton medical officers had to quickly intervene and have him stretchered off the field for first aid due to the incident.
Both sides drew 1-1 before the incident, and it is still unclear whether the match will be rescheduled or not.
It is not the first time Tom Lockyer has collapsed on the field. In June 2023, Lockyer suffered similar fate during the final of Championship playoffs.
A report shared by Fabrizio Romano confirmed he is responding to medical treatment after the incident.
Now, Luton Town have further confirmed Tom Lockyer has been hospitalized and is responding to treatment.
A club statement on Lockyer’s health status reads;
“Our medical staff have confirmed that the Hatters captain suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch, but was responsive by the time he was taken off on the stretcher.
“He received further treatment inside the stadium, for which we once again thank the medical teams from both sides.
“Tom was transferred to hospital, where we can reassure supporters that he is stable and currently undergoing further tests with his family at his bedside.
“We would like to thank everyone for their support, concern and loving messages for Locks. ????

Who is Tom Lockyer?
Tom Lockyer is a Welsh professional football player, who plays as a defender for Premier League club Luton Town.
He is the captain of Luton, and plays as a center-back for the club. Lockyer was born in Cardiff, Wales in 1994. He plays for Wales national team.
The 29-year-old started his football career with Cardiff City in 2006 before moving to Bristol Rovers where he subsequently made his first senior appearance in 2012. He made 255 appearances for Bristol Rovers over a seven-year stint before joining Charlton Athletic in 2019.
After a year at Charlton, Lockyer moved to Luton in 2020 on a free transfer. He has made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 5 goals.
Lockyer is still active with Wales national team. He has won 16 caps with the team since making his debut in 2017.
