The former Real Madrid defender has a one-year contract extension clause attached to his contract.

His decision to renew his deal followed the recent upturn on his fortunes following an injury blow to Harry Maguire.

Varane starred for Manchester United as the Red Devils salvaged a point from Liverpool at Anfield with a barren draw.

Following his upbeat performance against the Reds, it is believed the French center-back has built his way again into Erik ten Hag’s squad.
