The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the event, highlighting Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan Enoh as the co-host.

The glamorous dinner, set to take place hours before the team’s departure for Cote d’Ivoire, will be a star-studded affair, with invitations extended to Governors Douye Diri (Bayelsa State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo State).

NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau will act as the host, with high-profile officials from the Lagos State government and parliamentary members in attendance.

The special event aims to unite the Nigerian football fraternity, with the 25 selected players and their officials being the honored guests. The entire contingent is expected to arrive in Lagos via a chartered aircraft on Tuesday evening.

The dinner will serve as a platform to convey the nation’s unwavering support to the Super Eagles as they embark on their quest for a fourth AFCON trophy.

Expressing gratitude, NFF President Gusau lauded Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration for their generosity, emphasizing the occasion as an opportunity to rally behind the players.

The Nigerian delegation is scheduled to depart Lagos on Wednesday morning for the short flight to Abidjan, where they will compete in Group A against host nation Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau.

The leadership of the delegation will be entrusted to Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, the Chairman of NFF Technical and Development Committee.
