Mohamed Salah’s late penalty rescued Egypt as they played a 2-2 draw against Mozambique in AFCON 2023, MySportDab reports.
The Pharaohs were almost sinking into losing the match until they were able to salvage the draw which made things look decent.
The encounter had a lot of talking points and controversies which mainly took place in the ending stages of things between both teams.

The match started well with the Egyptians pushing forward in number as they dominated play against their opponent.
Mostafa Mohamed scored very early in the 2nd minute after an assist from Mohamed Salah which gave Egypt the lead 1-0 as they carried on.
Mozambique was calm as they tried making something of their own which did not happen despite how close it was looking like a goal.
The game remained the same way as they carried on doing so much which was either being saved or not hitting the target like they wanted it to be.
Egypt entered the break on top with a 1-0 lead against Mozambique who gave them a good fight, but it wasn’t good enough until the 45 minutes ended between them.
Meanwhile, things changed in the second half which saw the Mozambicans making sure they brought themselves back into the fold despite the pressure.
Witness Quembo leveled things for Mozambique in the 55th minute which was a wonderful effort making sure it was 1-1 as they pushed on.
Clesio Bauque stunned Egypt again as things quickly turned against them in the 58th minute as the encounter turned 1-2 with so much more left to be played.
The game quickly turned on the Pharaohs who endured until very late which saw VAR giving a penalty that Mohamed Salah scored to make things 2-2.
Mozambique did well enough as they played out a 2-2 draw against Egypt who were much better than them in a match that could have gone either way for both teams.
