William Troost Ekong penalty goal was enough as the Super Eagles of Nigeria claimed a 0-1 victory against host Ivory Coast, MySportDab reports.
It was a pleasant opening half of the game for both teams who settled in well in their playing and pushed forward for a goal.
It was a heated game which the Super Eagles ensured they took all the needed three points which move them second with four points from two games.

The first 45 minutes was evenly balanced between them both as they came close to scoring also but at the end there wasn’t so much they could do.
Ivory Coast had their moments which could have given them the lead but it didn’t work out as their opportunity developed to nothing good for them.
Meanwhile the Super Eagles of Nigeria were not left behind as Victor Osimhen came close only for his finishing to let him down instead of making it count.
The game slowly crawl away with nothing good coming as the Ivorian tested the Super Eagles goalkeeper with a striker before Zaidu blocked the ball.
Ivory Coast and Nigeria headed into the break with nothing coming from them after a cagey 45 minutes of action which only saw opportunities and nothing changed the 0-0 scoreline.
They both made their way into the second half trying to see what they could put together to ensure the lead come through while things progressed.
Nigeria were decent enough with their defending which was well coordinated as they also try to see what they could benefit from Victor Osimhen at the front.
Ivory Coast conceded a penalty after VAR checked a foul on Osimhen which saw William Troost Ekong stepping up to make it 0-1 in the 55th minutes.
The game continued with strong play coming from the home side who pressed with everything possible trying to see they could make a comeback which failed.
Nigeria ended up claiming a 0-1 victory against Ivory Coast which pushed to four points from three games with their last match coming up against Guinea-Bissau.
