AFCON 2023: Nigeria 2-0 Cameroon, Lookman Send Super Eagles To QUARTERFINAL! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Ademola Lookman scored a brace as the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Cameroon 2-0 in the AFCON 2023 round 16, MySportDab reports.

The Super Eagles were the better of both teams in the first 45 minutes which saw them scoring twice but VAR chopped one off.

There was so much done by Ademola Lookman who provided an outstanding performance to ensure his goals did the magic.

It was a beautiful start to one of the highly rated round 16 games for the AFCON 2023 which saw both teams doing a lot from their end.

Nigeria wasted no time as Semi Ajayi scored but unfortunately, after a long review from VAR, the goal was removed leaving things goalless between both teams.

Cameroon organized themselves and pushed on with the game making their opportunities which were always going wide and failed to hit the target as they continued.

Ademola Lookman gave the Super Eagles the lead 1-0 which came in the 36th minute after Victor Osimhen set the assist which saw the Atalanta man finishing up neatly.

Nigeria couldn’t make anything much happen as they were done for the 45 minutes with a 1-0 lead against Cameroon which saw them both heading for the break.

There was a lot that came into play in the second half and both Nations tried different approaches based on their coach talking during the break.

Cameroon did a lot from their end but still couldn’t make anything much happen with the game pushing forward against them.

Nigeria were fine as came close on many occasions to making something count but unfortunately there wasn’t much they could do to add to their lead.

Ademola Lookman doubled the lead with another goal and his brace which came in the 90th minutes to make things 2-0 as they continued moving on.

Nigeria cemented their place in the AFCON 2023 quarterfinal after beating Cameroon 2-0 with them next going up against Angola who smashed Namibia 3-0.
