Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has broken his silence on rumors of dressing room fallout at Barcelona, MySportDab reports.
There were reports the former Barcelona player turned manager has lost Barcelona dressing room, and is struggling to enlist the support of key players in the team.
The report adds Barcelona’s dwindling fortunes has forced some players to withdraw their confidence on Xavi Hernandez – a move that could compound the club’s crisis.
Reacting to the report, Xavi has cleared the air, insisting he has not lost the confidence of Barcelona players. He also added the club is in good shapenand he is enjoying a maximum cooperation from all the players.
In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Xavi Hernandez said;
“I will never be a problem for Barcelona. I love this club. I will continue to give my all and we have to stay together.
“The president Laporta were here to tell us about faith and confidence in the staff and the players. The day I notice the players are not with me, I will be the one take my things and go home.
“If this season, we don’t reach out goals, then I will be the first to take a step back and leave Barcelona.
“My approach hasn’t changed. I think we are closer to success than defeat, I believe.”
Xavi is marauding through one of the most difficult chapters of his career as a Barcelona manager. Barcelona have been written off La Liga title race this season following a recent dismal run.
The Catalan giants are 4th on the Bundesliga table with 41 points, 7 points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid, and 8 points behind league leaders Girona.
They missed out on a golden chance to nail home their first title this season, losing the Spanish Super Cup final by an outrageous margin to Real Madrid.
Barcelona fans seem to be mounting heavy pressure on Xavi as the club’s dwindling fortunes linger but club chiefs had passed a vote confidence on the Spanish tactician, insisting a defeat is not enough to peg down Barcelona’s gains under Xavi.
However, it is understood Xavi will be under pressure to reposition Barcelona as a top La Liga and European giant and reverse the club’s dwindling fortunes to protect his job.
