Bayern Munich Sign Eric Dier From Tottenham Hotspur

Bayern Munich have sealed a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier, MySportDab reports.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich have forked out €4m to seal the move for the player with Tottenham Hotspur unwilling go keep the player.

Dier, who joined Tottenham Hotspur for £4m from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, has been a key center-back for the Lilywhites.

However, under the reign of Ange Postecoglou as new manager, Dier has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

He managed only one Premier League appearance for the club this season, and four across all competitions. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, he was linked to a transfer exit from the club.

West Ham and some Premier League clubs were reportedly interested in a move for Eric Dier before Bayern Munich came out top on the race for the player. Should Tottenham had refused to sell the 29-capped England international, they would have lose him on a free transfer.

Ange Postecoglou was clear when asked about the Eric Dier’s place on his squad, the high-flying Aussie manager said he is not afraid of losing Eric Dier this summer despite facing injury crisis at the backline.

Postecoglou opted for Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in Tottenham’s backline after he struggled with injuries to Mick de be Hen and Cristian Romero, dropping off Dier off his list.

With the deal for Dier set to be sealed after medical, Eric Dier will join the Bavarians joining his old teammate and prolific goalscorer Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have gone for Genoa defender Dragusin to boost their defensive options as they continue their push for European football under Postecoglou.
