Cristiano Ronaldo is still unfazed with the Ballon d’Or and FIFA The Best Awards after he was snubbed in the 2023 edition of the award, MySportDab reports.

The football superstar was left out from the award nominations for the first time since 2003.

Ballon d’Or organizers, France Football, said Cristiano Ronaldo’s omission from the nominees list was not a topic of discussion as the Portuguese star did not measure up to the billing in the said year.

However, Ronaldo’s gesticulations has been that of rebuttal of claims he has fallen off the pecking order. The Manchester United legend has been throwing his weight around insisting he was unfairly snubbed in the awards.

First, he liked a controversial social media post which aimed a dig on Lionel Messi for winning the award.

Again, he was expressly vocal of how the award has lacked credibility recently as they play down players’ statistics and numbers.

Speaking while bagging a triple gong at the Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo insisted he deserved the award based on his stats but was unfairly snubbed.

Now, the Portuguese seems to have taken a step further to discredit the Ballon d’Or as he reportedly paid for a Facebook post blasting the award and aiming a dig on the current holder Lionel Messi.

In a footage shared by SPORTbible , Ronaldo contracted a social media channel, GOATnaldo Junction, to promote a Facebook post which reads; ‘Ballon d’Or hits different when it is earned.’

The post has been widely seen as a subtle dig on Ballon d’Or and Lionel Messi who won the award.

Despite falling out of favor on Ballon d’Or and FIFA awards, Ronaldo capped up a memorable career year in 2023 finishing as the world’s topscorer with 54 goals. Meanwhile, it is believed he dropped down the pecking order on the Ballon d’Or and FIFA awards due to his move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia Manchester United.
