Host nation Ivory Coast kicked off their AFCON 2023 campaign with a 2-0 win against Guinea-Bissau, MySportDab reports.
Seko Fofana scored the first goal of the tournament which saw them coming in and giving a good account of themselves.
The Elephants delivered in their opening game which gave them so much boost heading into other games in the group stages.

They came in prepared as the host nation had a wonderful time in front of their fans for the opening match of AFCON 2023.
Ivory Coast dominated play and made some good run forward which saw Seko Fofana making it count very early in the 4th minutes which saw things turned 1-0.
Guinea-Bissau started off not badly as they maintained composure while trying to push themselves forward to balance off everything.
It was unfortunate for the away side who did well enough despite going down very early after an error saw them paying badly for it as they stayed behind.
Ivory Coast were superb and made sure their lead stayed as they ended the first half in front 1-0 against Guinea-Bissau who were below them.
The second half looked more similar to what happened in the first 45 minutes which was evenly balanced leaving no room for errors.
Guinea-Bissau maintained calmness while they hope to get the leveler as the match pushed on further with more opportunities to score but none could hit target.
Ivory Coast doubled their advantage with another outstanding goal which came from Jean-Philippe Krasso in the 58th minutes ensuring it was 2-0 going forward.
There was more opportunities to make something from both sides who couldn’t make them into a goal as the match entered the final 10 minutes to be played.
Ivory Coast made sure they were clear beginning the AFCON 2023 with all three points and clean sheet after beating Guinea-Bissau 2-0.
