Real Madrid came from behind to defeat Almeria 3-2 as the press on to wrestle the La Liga title from Barcelona, MySportDab reports.
The Los Blancos got off to a dreary start as Almeria stunned the hosts with the quickest La Liga goal this season.
Just a minute into the game, Almeria raced into the lead with a goal from Ramazani. Real Madrid failed to mount a quick response as they struggled to weather Almeria’s brink wall defense. Coming under pressure, the visitors committed more bodies backward, trying to defend the lead while hoping to catch the hosts on counter attacks.
At the cusp of the end of the first half, Real Madrid conceded again with Gonzalez doubling the lead for the away side following a costly defensive error by the hosts.
Going down by two goals before the break against Almeria was a shocking first-half result for the La Liga title hopefuls.
Real Madrid resumed in the second 45 with a more dominant display. The Los Blancos capped off a classic second-half display with two quickfire goals, 10 minutes apart to restore parity in flash.
Almeria gifted away the Los Blancos’ first goal as they conceded a penalty which was perfectly converted by Jude Bellingham in the 57th minute.
10 minutes later, Vinicius Jr added to the tally to bring the scoreline to a 2-2 draw. With less than half an hour left to play, Almeria dropped deeper as they hoped to run out with at least a point from Santiago Bernabeu.
It nearly ended in a draw as Real Madrid’s countless offensives bounced off Almeria’s sturdy and solid defense.
In the 90+7th minute, Almeria were reduced to 10 men with Garitano sent off after receiving his second yellow card.
Two minutes after Garitano’s red card, Real Madrid leveraged their numerical advantage to finally score the winner in 90+9th minute, thanks to Carvajal’s goal.
The Los Blancos survived Almeria’s first-half scare to run out with 3-2 comeback victory to maintain their grip on top of the La Liga table.
