Ian Maatsen have extended his contract with Chelsea amid his pending loan move to Borussia Dortmund, MySportDab reports.
The player have been in talks concerning his future with the club as he isn’t getting enough playing time.
Chelsea have decided on extending Ian Maatsen contract amid his pending move which will see him play with Borussia Dortmund for regular playing time.
The Premier League side have been dealing with a lot which have kept some players away from playing regularly and forcing a move elsewhere.
Lewis Hall was one of those players although his situation hasn’t changed with Newcastle United who are also looking at not making the move permanent.
Ian Maatsen this season haven’t been a regular, but he has played already and made some starts this season for Chelsea.
According to reports reaching us from Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed a new deal have been signed between the player and club despite a pending loan move.

“Ian Maatsen signs new deal at Chelsea valid until June 2027, two year extension… and it will include a release clause!
“The clause will be valid starting from summer 2024.
“Maatsen will fly to Dortmund tonight to join BVB on loan, medical tomorrow as revealed.
He is still expected to make a lot of improvement despite his recent loan move which ended up so well before he returned.
Ian Maatsen will hope to establish himself at Borussia Dortmund where he could get enough time playing regularly this season.
