Jose Mourinho was charged with emotions as he leaves Roma training ground a few hours Roma sacked him as manager, MySportDab reports.

The former Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Real Madrid manager was shown the exit door by Roma following his dwindling fortunes with the Giallarossi.

As per reports, Roma wants to return to Champions League football as free narrowly missing out last season, finishing below the top four, and also failing to win the Europa League final, which would have seen them book a slot for 2024/25 Champions League.

After the near-misses last season, the club’s hierarchy hoped to have Jose Mourinho mount a formidable challenge for a top-four finish this season.

So far, it has been a downward spiral of poor results. Roma are ninth on Serie A table with 29 points, 5 points away from top and 22 points away from league leaders Inter Milan.

The club suffered back-to-back defeats to Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarterfinal and AC Milan in Serie A, with Mourinho sent off in the last game.

The Portuguese were apparently shown the exit door from the Stadio Olimpico as the dismal domestic campaign continued.

In a viral footage available at the end of this post, an egg-faced Mourinho made his public appearance after the sack.

The Portuguese was spotted inside a car gathered by Roma fans trying to get his attention as he leaves Roma training ground. Mourinho had a word with the fans and was visibly charged with emotions before driving away.

Football fans have been divided over Jose Mourinho’s sack by Roma with many blasting the club for ingratitude while others berate Mourinho for his on-field and off-field dramas.

Mourinho won Roma their first European title in 60 years after helping the club to the European Conference League title.

He also led the team to Europa League final in 2023 narrowly losing on shootouts to Sevilla.
