Manchester United Terminate Sergio Reguilon Loan Deal

Manchester United have parted with Tottenham loanee to the club Sergio Reguilon, MySportDab reports.

Erik ten Hag signed Sergio Reguilon on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur but with a break clause in January.

The acquisition of the services of the former Real Madrid player became necessary as United grappled with a myriad of injury crisis at the defense.

The likes of Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, were all sidelined, including Tyrell Malacia who is yet to return.

With the dearth of key players in Man United backline, Erik ten Hag opted for the services of the Spaniard to fill the void at the defense.

Since joining Manchester United Sergio Reguilon has struggled to make a bold presence in the squad due to frequent absence from the squad due to injuries.

He has managed 9 Premier League, 3 Champions League, and 2 EFL Cup appearance for Manchester United.

With the likes of Dalot and Shaw back to the team, it was evident Erik ten Hag may no longer need the services of the Europa League and FIFA Club World Cup winner.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have terminated the loan contract with Tottenham for Sergio Reguilon and he is set to return to the club.

Under new Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, Sergio Reguilon’s first team role is not guaranteed hence there are projections he will likely be loaned out again this January to another.
