Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has called up Calabar-born Nigerian striker Terem Moffi to replace injured Victor Boniface in Super Eagles AFCON squad, MySportDab reports.
Moffi, 24, will be expected to partner Victor Osimhen on the attack as the Super Eagles set sight on clinching their fourth AFCON trophy.
The 24-year-old was previously dropped off the 25-man squad although he is still active with Nigeria national team. Moffi is a good striker but was down Jose Peseiro’s striker options for 2023 AFCON.
AC Milan star Samuel Chukwueze, injured Bayer Leverkusen forward and five-time Rookies winner Victor Boniface, and Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen were hot shots for Peseiro for the Super Eagles frontline, hence Moffi fell out of favor.
