Bayern Munich have decided to part ways with Thomas Tuchel in a big move by the Bundesliga giants, MySportDab reports.
In a report shared by Sky Germany, Tuchel, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club, will depart the dugout at the Allianz Arena.
However, he is not expected to leave the club immediately. The club have reportedly agreed to have him stay till the end of the season before leaving the reins at Allianz Arena.
The decision to part ways with Thomas Tuchel followed Bayern Munich’s sudden slack in the Bundesliga title race that has seen the team drift 8 points away from Bayer Leverkusen.
They also suffered a shock Champions League round 16 first-leg defeat to Lazio in Italy. In his last three matches, Thomas Tuchel is still in search of his first win, having lost all the three matches.
The final blow to Bayern Munich’s confidence on Tuchel came after the game against Bochum in which the team stumbled to a shock 3-2 defeat in their third straight defeat in all competitions.
The post-match press conference after the game was canceled with Bayern Munich officials swinging into talks on Tuchel’s future.
Sources close to the club revealed Tuchel’s job was still secure despite the loss to Bochum with the club still confident of him turning things around in subsequent matches.
However, it has been confirmed he has been asked to leave at the end of the season in a shock U-turn by the club’s hierarchy.
Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso and former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar have been tipped as his possible replacements.
