Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed an update on Luke Shaw’s injury, MySportDab reports.

Luke Shaw was subbed off in the 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth a few minutes before the break after he picked up an apparent injury.

It was the second time he had to be subbed off in the first half of a Premier League match after a similar scenario against Aston Villa.

During the week, there were fears the England star might be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines following his cameo against Aston Villa.

Manchester United dropped no update on the injury but sources close to the club revealed it is not a serious fitness issue.

Speaking ahead of the match against Luton Town, Erik ten Hag sounded pessimistic about Shaw’s chances, saying he is a doubt for the match.

The concerns are Luke Shaw should not have started or featured against Luton United since the club could not ascertain his fitness status.

Against Luton Town, Erik ten Hag went ahead and started the player, and the fears were confirmed with the player subbed off prematurely due to an apparent injury.

Lindelof came on for Shaw but there are still uncertainties over the nature of the injury. Shaw walked off the pitch into the dressing room gallantly without assistance or sign of an injury.

Erik ten Hag confirmed in his post-match press conference he could not say what happened to Luke Shaw but is hoping to get the root of the injury with a test soon.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch said;

“Not only a stunt. I can’t say… I can confirm tests will follow to see what happens”.

“It’s clear that when you go out, it’s not is not good.”

Luke Shaw was sidelined for months due to injury and has missed 20 matches for Manchester United already this season. He could be set for another spell on the sidelines due to the recurring fitness issues.
