Manchester United have defeated West Ham in Premier League matchday 23 clash to keep their top four hopes alive, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils wrestled the game from the visitors with a commanding and dominant performance throughout the first half. They fired 10 attempts with 3 on target.
West Ham were also not giving up easily. Despite slightly losing possession to the hosts, the Hammers maintained a scissor-edged attack and counter-offensives. They recorded more attempts than the host but lacked the precision to convert them into goals.
Meanwhile, United continued on their more dominant performance and finally capped their effort with a beautiful goal from Rasmus Hojlund in the 23rd minute.
After conceding, West Ham ramped up efforts to level the score committing more bodies forward to find an equaliser all to no avail.
Buoyed by a roaring home crowd hungry for revenge victory over the London outfit, the Red Devils pulled a solid defensive performance and went into the break with the lead.
West Ham United seemed to have lost the spark and drive to fight their back into the game in the second half. United started on the bang. Alejandro Garnacho scored a quick goal two minutes into the second 45 to double the lead for United.
Despite going two goals down, West Ham United did little to mount a comeback and were effectively pocketed by a far superior performance by the Red Devils.
United were still leading 2-0 at the hour mark. With six minutes left in regulation time, Alejandro Garnacho came up clutch again for the Red Devils, scoring in the 84th minute to seal the victory and put the game beyond the Hammers.
At the blast of the final whistle, United grabbed a deserved 3-0 victory to keep their top-four hopes alive.
