La Liga have issued a statement on Jude Bellingham following reports of his alleged verbal abuse of Mason Greenwood, MySportDab reports.
Jude Bellingham and Mason Greenwood clashed during Real Madrid’s 2-0 La Liga win over Getafe at Coliseum Stadium. The pair fell out after Jude Bellingham raised the hackles of Mason Greenwood with a wild tackle on the Man United loanee.
Reacting to Mason Greenwood’s fury, Bellingham seemed to utter unsavory and vile remarks on Mason Greenwood.
Close sources revealed he was allegedly calling the 22-year-old a rapist during the faceoff sparking a furious reaction by Getafe.
In a statement issued by La Liga today to address the decision and the next move to the Spanish club football governing body on the Bellingham and Greenwood row, it was confirmed Getafe took up the matter and reported it to La Liga.
Now, La Liga have confirmed they have begun an investigation into the incident and will employ a lip reader to actually detect what Jude Bellingham said.
The club statement reads;
“Getafe yesterday transferred the complaint to the La Liga match director and La Liga, as it always does on these occasions, has requested an expert report on lip reading to investigate the matter and act based on what can be proven beyond doubt (by the lip reader)”
As per reports, Jude Bellingham could be slammed with a ban if he is found guilty of the allegations.
Mason Greenwood joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United after the club affirmed he is innocent of sexual assault allegations.
United initially wanted to integrate Mason Greenwood back into the Man United squad but feared media backlash, hence the decision to have the player loaned to Getafe.
It hasn’t been a groundbreaking career restart for Mason Greenwood but he has impressed on his loan shift and has been linked to permanent stay in La Liga.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham who joined Real Madrid last summer is also on a stellar run with the club. However, he could see his career suffer a temporary setback if he is guilty of the said slander as charged.
