Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has explained why he treated Marcus Rasford and Jadon Sancho discplinary issues differently, MySportDab reports.

Rashford apparently tore down Erik ten Hag’s disciplinary code for Man United players after he went partying in Belfast and missing training the next day.

The England star came under heavy backlash as he feigned illness, miss training, and was axed out of Man United matchday squad against Newport County.

Like other Man United players, who have came under the sledgehammer of Erik ten Hag for breaching disciplinary codes of conduct, Rashford was expected to be suspended from Man United squad.

However, Erik ten Hag made a subtle but profound statement by chosing to integrate Rashford back to Man United squad after the partying scandal.

Notably, Rashford’s saga surfaced a few weeks after United loaned out embattled winger Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund following his four-month fallout with Erik ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag refused to budge on his decision to have Sancho back to the squad as the player refused to apologize after being axed out of Man United squad following the fallout.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag’s decision on Rashford has raised eyebrows among sections of Man United fans who have questioned the integrity of Dutch’s standards.

When asked on why he chose a different punishment for Marcus Rashford from Jadon Sancho’s, Erik ten Hag gave a candid reply hinting on how the two players reacted to their misdemeanor.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag said Sancho’s case would have been handled internally for an amicable solution but he chose to go public.

“What’s the difference between Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford situations?

Ten Hag: “We can sort out everything internally. Jadon chose to go public.”

Sancho is slowly returning to his game with Borussia Dortmund after his loan exile from United while Rashford will be expected to return to Man United lineup as the Red Devils prepare to take on Wolves in the Premier League.

United issued a statement that has Rashford owned up to his actions and the matter has been handled internally and closed.
