Liverpool edged out Chelsea at the death to win their record-extending 10th Carabao Cup trophy, MySportDab reports.
And it was a celebration galore after the victory. Behind the scene cameras showed the players caught up in a rowdy dressing room celebration led by their captain Virgil van Dijk, who scored the winner.
Robertson, Marc Allister, Elliot, Wataru Endo, and other members of the squad could be seen hopping in jubilations as they celebrated the victory.
Virgil van Dijk joined the celebrations, riling up the players, and leading in the singing and dance moves, including the likes of Harvey Elliot, Coaimhim Kelleher, and Luis Diaz.
Amidst celebrations inside the changing room, an excited Virgil van Dijk boasted, “I thought I was finished, C’mon! that is not the mentality.”
Van Dijk was making reference to critics who claimed he was finished after a career-threatening injury nearly grounded his Anfield career.
After the departure of Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia, Van Dijk, who emerged as one of the longest-serving Liverpool players, was made the Reds captain.
Van Dijk found the back of the net twice in the Carabao Cup final. His first goal was ruled out after a VAR check.
