Cristiano Ronaldo was down to tears as Al-Nassr were dumped of the Asian Champions League by Al-Ain, MySportDab reports.

Al-Nassr needed an emphatic victory of not less than a two-goal score margin to qualify for the next round of the competition, having settled for a 1-0 loss in the reverse fixture.

Playing in front of the their home fans, a shocking series of blunders saw the Saudi side stumble in the first half.

Two minutes before the half-hour Rahimi fired Al-Ain into the lead against the run of play.

At the stroke of half-time, Rahimi was on target again for his brace to extend the lead for the away side.

Going down by two goals, Al-Nassr were in disarray as they had to score four goals pass Al-Ain to secure aggregate victory and progress to the next round of the competition.

In the 103rd minute, Al Shamsi gave Al-Nassr their worst scare as he scored to give the away side an edge.

Two minutes before the end of extra-time, Cristiano Ronaldo converted a spot kick to restore parity again and drag the game into penalties.

Brozovic, Telles, and Octavio missed all their spot kicks as Al-Ain won 3-1 in the shoot-outs to scrape through to the semifinals of the competition.
