CLASS! Harry Kane Breaks 60-year-old Bundesliga Goalscoring Record Vs Darmstadt

Amid Bayern Munich’s poor campaign this season, Harry Kane has proven his mettle with yet another landmark record in the German topflight, MySportDab reports.

Bayern Munich are teetering on the brink of ending their campaign without a silverware but Kane has defied the odds to cut out a brilliant individual outing for the Bundesliga giants.

Since his €100m switch to Allianz Arena, the England attacking sensation has been breaking the Bundesliga goalscoring  records for fun, setting new templates, and raising the bar of performance.

Against Darmstadt in Bundesliga matchday 26, Kane etched his name into the Bundesliga history books as he became the first player ever to hit a 31-goal tally in Bundesliga debut season.

Latching on a quick throw-in by Thomas Muller, Kane blasted pass Darmstadt walls and fired into the back of the net to complete Bayern Munich’s first-half comeback against the home side.

Skarte had raced Darmstadt into the lead in the 28th before Jamaal Musiala canceled out the lead in the 36th minute.

Kane nailed home the first-half sucker punch to register his 31st Bundesliga goal for Bayern Munich this season.

Musiala, Gnabry, and Tel would go ahead to score in the second half as Bayern Munich sealed a 5-2 victory over Darmstadt.

While the Bavarians relish the win over the relegation battlers, the spotlight has been on Kane’s incredible goalscoring feat.

The former Tottenham forward and England all-time topscorer was tied with Uwe Steeler, a legendary German and Bundesliga footballer, before the Darmstadt game.

Uwe Steeler, on his Bundesliga debut campaign with Hamburg in 1963/64 season, scored a record 30 Bundesliga goals.

No other player has been able to replicate Uwe Steeler’s feat in the last 60 years but Harry Kane has now broken the record and it is now a question of how long it will take for another player to break the record.

With eight matches left to wrap up the season, Kane will hope to extend the record by continuing on his goalscoing rout till the end of the season.
