Fast-rising Nigerian young striker Ibrahim Hafiz Umar is closing in on playing for his dream club in Europe following a breakthrough with Ojodu City Academy in Lagos, Nigeria, MySportDab reports.
Ibrahim Hafiz, 18, was originally slated to join Belgian outfit Bodo Glimt from Ojodu City Academy before he made a U-turn, switching to his dream club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ojodu City Academy have struck a deal with Bodo Glimt for €500,000 for the transfer of the player.
However, the burgeoning young Nigerian football talent later made the switch from Bodo Glimt to take a trial with Premier League and London giants Chelsea.
It is still unclear how the youngster completed the U-turn on his career but it is believed the drastic change of purpose could only happen due to an expression of interest by Chelsea to have the player on trial and the assistance of playing or non-playing staff of the club.
According to unverified reports, Chelsea star Raheem Sterling is said to have played a role in the intake of the 18-year-old for a trial with the Blues but the relationship of the youngster to Sterling is still unclear.
Brimming with confidence and optimism, Ibrahim Hafiz Umar said he is ready to give his all to lift his burgeoning career and would give back to the community should he sail through his trial with Chelsea.

The youngster will be hoping to skim through the Chelsea trial, sign a professional contract with the club, and hopefully build his career with the London outfit.
Not much is known about the player but sources close to the Ojodu City Academy reveal he was one of the brightest young strikers produced by the academy and had attracted interest from top European clubs.
