Manchester United players have questioned Mason Mount’s move to Manchester United, MySportDab reports.
The former Chelsea star joined Manchester United on a whopping £60m transfer last summer.
Since his switch from London to Manchester, Mount has seen his debut season with United plagued with injuries and setbacks.
He has been on the sidelines for months since his last appearance for United in November in a Premier League match against Luton Town.
In his iniury-ravaged debut season with the Red Devils, Mason Mount has managed just 12 appearances for United, spending more time on the sidelines than away from it.
Notably, Mount was grappling with injury issues before Manchester United saw off the competition from Liverpool and Arsenal to sign the player for £60m.
He was Erik ten Hag’s first signing and was tipped to play a big role in the Dutch’s Man United setup.
So far, it has been a disappointing debut season for the English midfield sensation as he has played a bit-part role in Erik ten Hag’s squad due to the niggling injuries.
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United players have caused a stir in United dressing room questioning the reason the club signed the player
Sources close to the players claims the Mason Mount deal was not for ‘football reasons.’
Mount is a homegrown Chelsea product having been at the club for 18 years, nurturing his career.
He was open to staying with the Blues but opted to leave when he could not reach agreement with the club on new contract terms with improved wage offer.
Manchester United are paying Mount £250,000 weekly on his five-year contract with the club.
His wage offer falls among the top-five highest-earning Man United players. And his injury has been of great disservice to the club with his heavy wage outlay.
The dressing room beef on Mount’s signing, as reported by MEN, is apparently linked to the players’ stupendously wage offer despite his injury struggles
