Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has broken his silence on reports linking him to a move to Liverpool and Manchester United in the summer, MySportDab reports.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced in January that he will leave the club at the end of the season while Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United has been uncertain with the club’s dwindling fortunes this season.
Roberto De Zerbi has been a bold name linked to the two imminent openings. The former Foggia and Sassuolo manager is the most in demand manager following his impressive campaign with Brighton in his two seasons at the club.
De Zerbi led Brighton to a 6th-place finish in the Premier League in his first season, qualifying the club for their first ever European competition.
Manchester United new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly eyeing the Italian as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag with Liverpool also linked to a possible move for him.
Speaking ahead of Brighton’s Europa League round of 16 clash with Roma in Rome, Italy, De Zerbi revealed he is happy at Brighton and is not fancying a move to any other club.
He also added he could one day return to Italy where he began his managerial career.
“It’s not true that I don’t think about it (returning to Italy) “Usually I do what makes me happy and right now that’s to be where I am. I am lucky to compete with this team at this level. It makes me happy when I win but even when we lose it is something special.”
Brighton will take on Roma in Europa League round 16 first leg clash at the Estadio Olimpico in Italy for a place in the last of the competition.
