Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was full of compliments for Antony after the Brazilian winger starred for the Red Devils in FA Cup quarterfinal thriller against Liverpool at Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.
Manchester United had gone into the lead just 10 minutes into the game when Endo was caught out by United’s press allowing the Red Devils to advance into the opponent’s area before a clinical finishing by McTominay.
At the stroke of halftime, Liverpool clawed their charges back into the game, scoring a quickfire double to cancel out McTominay’s opener and hand the visitors the lead.
Former Brighton star and Argentine midfielder Mac Allister and Egyptian attacking sensation Mohamed Salah scored the two quick goals that turned the game around.
It was almost a barren second half with Liverpool still in the lead. Three minutes before regulation time, a sheer moment of brilliance by Antony saw United peg back Liverpool to a 2-2 draw forcing the game into extra time.

Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo would score late in extra time to cancel out Harvey Elliot’s goal and hand United a dramatic 4-3 victory over Liverpool.
It was a huge victory for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag moreso for fringe stars like Amad Diallo and Antony, who shone bright with a goal each to stake a potent claim for regular first-team role under ten Hag.
While Diallo has struggled for a first-team spot in the United squad since joining the club from Atalanta in 2021, Antony has been a regular first-team choice for Erik ten Hag since he arrived from Ajax on a record £85m deal in 2022.
However, he has struggled for form and dropped off ten Hag’s pecking order this season. And his equaliser against Liverpool happens to be his first goal in 27 matches for the club this season.
Speaking after the game, Erik ten Hag, impressed by the 24-year-old’s performance, said the goal was important for Antony to get his career back on track after recent setbacks.
“It’s very important for him. He struggled so much. First part, he was not himself, he’s responsible for that.
”And then he lost confidence, and now he has to fight back. We see through the last two weeks, he’s returning.
”I see in training, I see the Antony I was used to work with at Ajax, and also used to work in the first weeks here.
”He has to fight back, and I’m sure he will do, because you’ve seen that goal.
Antony will hope to continue with the elite-level performance as he sets out to reclaim his career with a few months left to the end of the season.
Meanwhile, United booked a slot in the last four of the FA Cup and will take on Championship side Coventry for a place in the final.
