Former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has reached an agreement with Napoli to become the club’s next manager, MySportDab reports.

Italian journalist oulet RAI revealed Conte, who has been off coaching duties for over a year following his Tottenham Hotspur exit, has agreed terms with Napoli.

The report adds Conte and Napoli have agreed terms on key aspects of the deal from contract duration to the financial emoluments.

The former Juventus manager is said to have penned down a three-year contract worth £5.5m per season.

The deal will usher the Italian football veteran into management again after he exited Premier League and London outfit Tottenham Hotspur in the blaze of fury following his Champions League and domestic deadlock.

Conte’s new deal with Napoli will be a big blow to another Serie A giant AC Milan, who have been eyeing a move for the former Chelsea boss, with Stefan Pioli set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The former Inter Milan boss will be expected to resume at the dugout as Napoli manager at the end of the season with current interim boss Francesca Calzona set to leave.

Napoli have struggled in the Serie A this season and could miss out on Champions League football next season.

They have been managed by three different managers – Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri, and now Francesco Calzona – in the wake of the turmoil.

According to RAI, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has agreed, as part of the deal, not to interfere with the footballing operations of the club under Conte as part of the deal.

The Italian football veteran will be given a free hand to run the club as he deems fit, making necessary signings and taking charge of transfers.

With five matches left to wrap up the season, Napoli sits 8th on the Serie A table with 49 points, 13 points away from the top four.

Conte is more likely to inherit a club that may be playing in the third tier of European football next season or crash out of all European club competitions.
