Cristiano Ronaldo saw his first red card this season in Al-Nassr’s Super Cup semifinal loss to Al-Hilal, MySportDab reports.

What would have been a revenge for the Knights of Najd turned into a nightmare for the team and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al-Hilal secured a 2-1 victory courtesy of goals from Al Dawsari and Malcom to eliminate Al-Nassr from the competition and dent their hopes of a possible silverware this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo stoked reactions in the game as he sparked a furious bust-up after he fell out with an Al-Hilal player.

It all started when he attempted to retrieve a ball that had gone out of play for a throw-in but was blocked by opponent Ali Abulayhi.

Trying to clear Abulayhi from his route, the Portuguese furiously elbowed down the player, sparking a mass brawl between players of both sides.

After the fallout gradually died down, Ronaldo was approached by the center referee and issued a straight red, further unnerving the player.

Reacting to the red card, he instantly attempted to hit the referee, lifting his charged and closed fist before withholding himself.

It took a few seconds before he left the pitch and footage captured at the end of this post shows the iconic footballer trying to explain himself to the other officials before exiting the field to the tunnel.

With just four minutes of regulation time left, Al-Nassr could only bag a late consolation goal deep into added time to reduce the deficit as they got eliminated from the competition.

The loss was another blow to Cristiano Ronaldo’s hope of a domestic silverware with Al-Nassr. The Portuguese is now left with King Champions Cup as his only hope for a silverware.
