Erik ten Hag in Showdown Talks With Garnacho For Shock Social Media Post

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has held showdown talks with Man United youngster Alejandro Garnacho for his activity on social media after United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League, MySportDab reports.

Erik ten Hag took a rather weird move during the match, subbing off Garnacho at halftime with United trailing Bournemouth 2-1.

His decision to subbed off the 19-year-old was met with a heavy backlash by some Man United fans. Popular Man United fan, Mark Goldbridge, who runs one of the largest Man United fanbase on social media, United Stand, lashed out on the Dutch for the weird move to sub off Garnacho in the match.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Goldbridge rued ten Hag’s move to ‘throw the19-year-old under the bus, who had actually delivered for the club this season.”

He described the decision as a joke and further clamped down on the Dutch for subtly blaming the youngster for woeful first-half performance at Vitality Stadium in his post match press conference.

“Garnacho has been one of our best players this season. Poor first half but taking him off at half time and holding him up as the problem is a joke. Many have done much worse week in week out and are still out there,” he wrote on X

“Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post match press conference…not a good look throwing a 19 year old under the bus who has actually delivered for you this season. But then again he’s clearly scared of upsetting the bigger earners,” he added.

Garnacho liked Mark Goldbridge’s post but later deleted it. However, Manchester United Evening News now reports the youngster has been called by ten Hag for showdown talks due to the social media move after the Bournemouth game.

There are suggestions the Dutch may clampdown on the youngster for the social media take as he did with United loanee to Borussia Dortmund Jadon Sancho.

Garnacho has been a standout performer for a Manchester United despite the club’s difficult campaign this season. He has cored 9 goals with 4 assists in 42 appearances for the club.
