Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has fired a warning to the slated officials for the rollercoaster bout between his client Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, MySportDab reports.

Anticipation is already building among boxing enthusiasts ahead of the blockbuster boxing showdown slated for May 18, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

As expected, the Kingdom Arena will be lit as the two boxing heavyweights go head-to-head in what will be a cracker boxing matchup.

Previously slated to take place in February 2024, the highly-anticipated clash was shifted to May after Fury slacked on his preparations after sustaining a facial injury while training up for the match.

The England-born WBC heavyweight champion is back and ready for the undisputed heavyweight championship against the Crimea-born Ukrainian WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF champion.

Speaking ahead of the bout, Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren fired a warning to slated officials, insisting they must be ”very strong” characters with a strong hand on the rules of the game leaving no room for manipulation.

Warren, who also promoted Daniel Dubois in the latter’s fight against Usyk, seems to infer that the referee manipulated the fight by allowing much recovery time for Usyk despite Dubois’ ‘legal’ blows.

He warned such a scenario must not be allowed to reoccur again as Fury prepares to take on Usyk.

Speaking with Sky Sports, the renowned boxing promoter said the referee need not give the Ukrainian so high a belt time to recover with Dubois’ legal punches.

“We want to get all these things done. We want no controversy. We want somebody in there who everybody respects and will be very, very strong.

“The last referee was just a joke. Completely ridiculous the whole thing. Whether it was a low blow or not, the time he gave him and then, when he wanted to fight, he said ‘no, take more time out,” Warren added.

Tyson Fury, known popularly by his stage name as the Gypsy King, will fight Usyk for all his four major belts – the WBA, WBC, IBO, and the IBF titles.

While the fight is unpredictable, Fury has emerged as tipsters’ favorite to down Usyk on May 18. He is unbeaten in 35 fights with a KO of 71% while Usyk is unbeaten in 21 matches with a KO of 67%
