Liverpool have gone top of the Premier League table after securing a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United at Anfield, MySportDab reports.
The Reds needed a win against the Blades to return to the top of the table after Arsenal defeated Luton Town to climb to the top with a game more.
Manchester City also won their fixture against Aston Villa to keep tabs on the race for the title.
Liverpool dropped to the second spot on the table behind Arsenal and were tied on the same points (67) with Manchester City, who had played a game more but were separated on goal difference.
With the three teams locked in a tight race for the title, a win for Liverpool against Sheffield United would send Liverpool to the top of the table, restoring their two-point lead.

As expected, the Reds started the game on the front foot and were looking set to take the lead.
In the 17th minute, Sheffield United finally gave to the mounting pressure. Darwin Nunez raced the Reds into the lead with a brilliant goal.
Despite taking the lead, it was still a dominant performance by the home side but they could not add to the tally before the break.

In the second half, Sheffield United attempted an unlikely comeback when Liverpool were forced to concede an own goal through Conor Bradley.
After the equaliser, Sheffield United committed more bodies to the low block and nearly ran out with a point before Mac Allister restored the lead for the home side in the 76th minute.
At the stroke of regulation time, Cody Gakpo sealed the win with Liverpool’s third goal.
It ended 3-1 at the final whistle with the Reds securing a deserved victory to return to the summit of the Premier League table.
