The Nigeria Super Falcons claimed a 1-0 victory against South Africa in Abuja for the first leg of Paris 2024 Olympic games, MySportDab reports.
Both teams will play a return leg in few days time which will then decide which team will be making it through into the Olympic games.
Rasheedat Ajibade goal was enough to make sure the Super Falcons claimed the victory which give them the upper hand going into the second leg.

It was a wonderful first half with both teams doing more than enough from their end as they looked hungry for an early lead which did not come.
South Africa were equally in the match as they secure their defence and did more attacking at some point in the encounter but couldn’t take the lead.
Nigeria pressed and had things under control but it wasn’t looking any close for them with the opportunities kept flying in from both ends of the pitch.
The goal came for the Super Falcons after a penalty which Rasheedat Ajibade was able to convert neatly making sure things became 1-0 in the 43rd minutes.
The Banyana Banyana of South Africa were behind 1-0 against Nigeria who made sure they made good use of the opportunity presented to them after 45 minutes of play.
It was another encounter entirely in the remaining 45 minutes which action commenced at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja with many opportunities coming through.
The game carried on with opportunities and nothing was happening mostly for South Africa who wanted to make sure they make the comeback.
Chiamaka Nnadozie was a masterclass in goal as she kept some saves which would have brought things level on more than one occasion to keep things for Nigeria.
