Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed the club is still reeling under the plague of injury with fresh names added to the piling injury list ahead of their FA Cup matchup against Coventry City, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils have endured a worse-hit campaign with respect to injuries with only two players – Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho – spared from the blushes of incessant injuries.

According to Transfermarkt, Manchester United are the worst-hit team this season with the most cases of injury. They have been hit 52 times with cases of injuries with all players – except Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes – sidelined at least once.

With the season gradually winding down, the team has yet to recover with scores of their finest legs dumped on the sidelines with injuries.

Ahead of the FA Cup match against Coventry City on Sunday, Erik ten Hag has confirmed five key names are set to miss the clash due to injuries.

Harry Maguire, who has enjoyed a revamped career under the Dutch, is set to miss the game due to injury as he has yet to return to the turf.

Luke Shaw is also sidelined, including Johnny Evans, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia, who has not played for the club this season.

Another defensive blow to United ahead of the clash is Raphael Varane, who has yet to recover from his knee issue.

With a depleted defensive option, Erik ten Hag is likely to go with Willy Kambwala, who has been impressive since his breakout. Jack Kingdon, who recently got promoted to the first team in the wake of the grinding injury crises,  may make his debut for the club.

While ten Hag has been cut some slacks on United’s underwhelming campaign this season, the Dutch is still facing intense pressure as United teeter on the brink of missing out of the Champions League next season, and also ending the campaign without silverware.
