Marcus Rashford has blasted the media for constantly subjecting him to unfair criticisms, MySportDab reports.
Replying to a tweet by a concerned fan, the Man United forward called for an end to constant ‘abuse’ in the form of criticisms that has been going on for a month.
The fan who stoked the reply had written on X, ”The way Marcus Rashford has been treated is absolutely disgusting. It’s cruel. It’s abuse.”
Rashford replied to the post, “It’s abuse. And has been for months. Enough is enough.”
Rashford has had a difficult season with Manchester United this term. He has made 31 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals with 2 assists.
This is a far cry from his tally for United last season when he was the club’s topscorer in the season with 30 goals.
United have had a difficult campaign this season with some of the team’s top players like Marcus Rashford struggling to get off the mark.
Rashford has inevitably shared in the misfortunes, struggling to find the back of the net or create goalscoring chances.
Some United fans believe he is not doing enough for the batch, especially with his off-field controversies as well.
He has fallen out with United manager Erik ten Hag twice this season for indiscipline and below-par performances during matches.
He was dropped for two games by Ten Hag after United’s Premier League loss to Newcastle. He was also dropped from the United matchday squad for missing training and going for a night-long hangout in Belfast.
Erik ten Hag also lashed out on his decision to throw a lavish birthday party a day after Manchester United lost the Manchester Derby to cross-city rivals Manchester City.
