Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel faces potential disciplinary action after a confrontation with Trabzonspor fans during a league match, MySportDab Reports.
The Turkish Football Federation has listed him among three players summoned for a hearing following a pitch invasion during the Trabzonspor versus Fenerbahce clash on March 17th.
The altercation occurred as Fenerbahce players celebrated their victory, with goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic reportedly assaulted by a Trabzonspor fan.
Osayi-Samuel was captured on video punching a masked supporter who entered the pitch, while Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde was accused of kicking the same fan amid escalating tensions.
According to the Turkish FA’s disciplinary committee, players involved could face bans ranging from three to five matches for their actions. The Federation stated, “Players found guilty will be punished and banned for three to five matches.”
Michi Batshuayi is also implicated for allegedly hitting another fan with a spin kick amidst the chaotic scenes. Additionally, two club employees from Fenerbahce are under scrutiny for their involvement in the altercation.
Thirteen Trabzonspor supporters have been arrested, with five detained pending trial.
This incident adds to a series of violent episodes in Turkish football, including the suspension of the championship earlier in the season when the president of Ankaragucu assaulted a referee at the end of a first division match.
