Victor Osimhen is set to open a new chapter in his career in French Ligue 1 with a transfer agreement brokered between the player and Ligue 1 juggernauts PSG, MySportDab reports.
The prolific Nigerian forward hit the peak of his club career in the 2022/23 season when he led Napoli to win their first Scudetto in 33 years, thanks to his league-leading 25-goal tally which won him the 2022/23 Serie A Golden Boot.
This season has been a far cry for the Nigeria footballing sensation but his standout campaign with the Azzurri last season made him a top target for elite clubs in Europe.
PSG, Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, including Bayern Munich were some of the clubs linked to Osimhen.
Amidst the soaring transfer interest on the player, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis shrewdly got the 2023 CAF Footballer of The Year to pen down a new one-year contract extension with the club till 2026.

MySportDab understands Aurelio’s move to tie down Osimhen with fresh terms was a ploy to allow Napoli control proceedings on the negotiation table amidst interests milling around the player.
A £130m release clause was slammed on Osimhen as part of the new deal with the clause set to be active in the summer.
PSG and Chelsea were the two clubs who remained in the race for Victor Osimhen. However, there were doubts whether the Blues would fork out as much as €130m for the player, hence PSG were the most potent suitors.
Now, according to a report shared by Businessday, PSG have reportedly agreed personal terms with Victor Osimhen and are ready to trigger his €130m release clause this summer.
The report adds that Osimhen has been offered a four-year contract with an annual salary of €13m as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, sources close to the two parties have revealed talks are still ongoing between the Ligue 1 dominos and Osimhen’s representatives to sort out all necessary details of the deal.
At this point, a move to the Premier League for Osimhen has been ruled out with a late hijack said to be impossible.
