Ruben Amorim Breaks Silence After West Ham Talks

Liverpool and West Ham United target Ruben Amorim has broken his silence after he held talks with the Hammers on Monday, April 22, MySportDab reports.

Amorim, 39, has emerged as a top target for Liverpool and West Ham United, who are eyeing replacements for their managers in the summer.

While Liverpool seemed to have retreated to the back seat in the race for the Portuguese tactician, West Ham took the bull by the horns on Monday, opening talks with the Sporting Lisbon boss.

The three-time Portugal Cup winner was seen boarding a flight with his representatives to West London where he met with West Ham chiefs to discuss a possible move.

West Ham presented their project before Amorim but it is understood no agreement or deal has been struck between the two parties, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Chatting with journalists as he made his way for a flight back to Portugal after the West Ham talks, Amorim refused to let the cat out of the box as per his meeting with West Ham chiefs.

When pressed further, he smiled and said;

“See you next week. We have an important game in hand. We will talk but now back to work.”

Amorim is chasing his second Primeira title as a manager with Sporting Lisbon and is one of the most in-demand managers in Europe.

According to Fabrizio Romano, despite West Ham front foot advances for Amorim, Liverpool are still the favorite to poach the Portuguese.

He has a contract with Sporting Lisbon until 2026 but is open to Primeira Liga exit with a £12.8m release clause attached to his contract.
