Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has opened up on his Sporting Lisbon future amidst reports linking him to the soon-to-be-vacant Liverpool job, MySportDab reports.
Regarded as one of the most talented young managers in Europe, Amorim has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager at the end of the season.
Speaking ahead of Sporting Lisbon’s top-of-the-table and potential title-deciding clash against Benfica on Saturday, Amorim made it clear that he will leave the club as he had said before, especially if they don’t win the Primeira Liga.
“Sporting are dealing with their future and I can’t decide now because I gave my word, I can’t go back on that, so if I don’t win trophies, I’m going to leave Sporting.

“I can’t make any guarantees on my future at the club,” he added when asked whether he has taken a decision on his future.
Amorim is one of the most promising young European and Portuguese managers. He was shot to the limelight in the 2019/20 season when he led Braga to Taca de Portugal victory in his first role as first-team manager.
The former Portugal midfielder joined Sporting Lisbon the next season and won the Primeira Liga, including the Taca de Portugal again in his first season as the club’s manager.
This season, he is leading the Portuguese giants to reclaim the Primeira Liga title with a point gap on Benfica, who have played a game more.
The 39-year-old has contract with Sporting Lisbon till 2026 but has maintained he cannot guarantee his future at the club with Liverpool interested in his services.
His recent comment on his future with Sporting Lisbon delineates his readiness to take up a bigger role as Liverpool manager with Jurgen Klopp set to leave at the end of the season.
