Leverkusen clinched their first-ever Bundesliga title with a commanding 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen, with Boniface playing a pivotal role in the historic achievement.
The victory marks a significant milestone for Bayer Leverkusen, who secured their maiden Bundesliga title in their 119-year history, overcoming previous runner-up finishes.
Throughout the 2023/24 season, Leverkusen showcased dominance, remaining unbeaten in 29 league games, with Boniface contributing 11 goals and eight assists in just 18 matches.
Oliseh commended Boniface’s exceptional qualities, highlighting his strength, skill, intelligence, and composure under pressure. He expressed confidence in Boniface’s ability to lead Nigeria to success at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and beyond.
“Victor Boniface was once again extraordinary as Leverkusen grabbed its first-ever Bundesliga title with 5 games left to play. Boniface is strong, skillful, intelligent, mobile, calm under pressure and I am convinced he will lead Nigeria to AFCON glory & more soon. Congrats,” Oliseh wrote on social media.
Despite missing out on the 2023 AFCON due to injury, Oliseh believes that Boniface’s leadership and talent will be instrumental in guiding the Super Eagles to glory in future tournaments.
In addition to Boniface’s contributions, fellow Nigerian talent Nathan Tella also played a significant role for Leverkusen, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 20 games.
With the Bundesliga title secured, Bayer Leverkusen now turn their focus to winning the UEFA Europa League and the German Cup.
