OFFICIAL! Brazil Name 23-man Squad For 2024 Copa America [See Full List]

Brazil have named their 23-man squad for the 2024 Copa America which will kick off in June 2024, MySportDab reports.

As shared by Fabrizio Romano, there are seismic changes to the squad with some top-class players missing out of the list.

Leading the list of players omitted from the squad is Neymar Jr, who is currently plying his trade with Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. It is the first time Neymar has been left off a major tournament since his career breakout.

Neymar last played for the Selecao in March 2023 international friendly where he picked up a season-ending injury. He has been out of action after undergoing surgery and is slowly recovering from the blow.

However, it is yet unclear whether the door for his return to international football has been closed with Brazil’s new head coach Dorivial Junior getting up to speed with the bunch of young talents at his disposal.

Manchester United midfielder and Real Madrid legend Casemiro has also been left out of the squad. Casemiro’s omission is not a surprise following his struggles to return to form since he picked up an injury while on international duty with the team.

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus has also been left out of the squad, including Manchester United’s Antony, who remains suspended from the team following allegations of sexual assault and domestic abuse by his former girlfriend Gabriela.

Leading the list of names called up for the squad is Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Jr, who has been in the form of his life for Los Blancos.

Vinicius Jr’s Real Madrid teammate Rodygo has also made the list, including Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, and Real Madrid-bound Palmeiras youngster Endrick.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson and his Liverpool counterpart Alisson Becker, including Bento, make the goalkeeper call-ups.
