Chelsea Sack Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea have sacked Mauricio Pochettino after a largely unimpressive debut season with the club, MySportDab reports.

A report by @Matt_De_Law, shared by Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the Blues have reached a mutual agreement with Mauricio Pochettino to part ways with the Argentine.

The report reads;

“Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea part ways with immediate effect.

“Chelsea and Pochettino have already agreed on terms, as @Matt_Law_DT reports.

↪️ #CFC will consider a young manager as a priority to replace Pochettino.

Chelsea’s decision to sack Pochettino came hours after the former Tottenham and PSG boss confirmed he had a fruitful meeting with the club’s owner Todd Boehly.

While he was vague on his future at the club after the meeting, Poch confirmed he had a coffee with the American and all went well.

While it has not been a groundbreaking campaign for Pochettino in his first season with the Blues, the season cannot be passed as a failure for the English football veteran.

After a stuttering start to the campaign, Chelsea roared back to form towards the end of the campaign, winning their remaining games to finish 6th on the Premier League.

The 6th-place finish secured the Blues a slot in the Europa League next season but the qualification was dependent on Manchester City beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final on May 25.

Despite recent gains towards the end of the campaign, MySportDab understands Pochettino has been under pressure after Chelsea lost the EFL Cup final to Liverpool and also lost the FA Cup semi-final to Manchester City.
