England have released their provisional squad for the 2024 Euros in Germany, MySportDab reports.
The Three Lions, who finished as runners-up in the last edition of the tournament, will hope to go a step further to clinch the title.
A 31-man provisional squad has been dolled out by Gareth Southgate ahead of the tournament with regular names making the cut.
Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane is leading the list of attackers called up for the tournament. Kane has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squad and was expected to make the roster following his outrageous personal best for Bayern Munich in the just-concluded campaign.
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has also made the list. The prolific winger is another top forward whose position in the squad could not be traded following his standout campaign with Arsenal.
Prolific Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has also made the squad after a standout debut campaign with Chelsea in the English top-flight.
Other attacking options listed by Gareth Southgate are Phil Foden, Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, and others.
Tottenham playmaker James Maddison is leading the list of midfield call-ups by Southgate, alongside 18-year-old fast-rising Man United sensation Kobbie Mainoo, who was on roaring form for United in the just-concluded 2023/24 campaign.
Real Madrid sensation and former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has made the list as well.
Man United duo Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have been called up in the defense alongside Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, and others.
Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker has also been called up for the tournament, including his teammate John Stones.
Leading the list of major omissions from the squad is Jordan Henderson, who has likely seen his over-a-decade-long career with the national team come to an end.
Chelsea duo Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling could also be forced to call time on their international career, having been left out of the squad.
Struggling Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Philips is also out of the squad following his dip in form and struggles this season. Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is another major exclusion.
