FT: Brighton 1-2 Chelsea, Christopher Nkunku STRIKES! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Christopher Nkunku was on target as Chelsea claimed a 1-2 victory against Brighton and Hove to move 6th position, MySportDab reports.

The Blues were at their best but they did have to make a force substitution after Mudryk was rushed off due to an injury he sustained.

The game was crucial and the Blues made sure they made it count knowing the advantage of picking up their Europe football was in their hands.

They started well with them pushing and teasing themselves to see what they could put together to result in an early goal which did not happen.

Chelsea carried on dominating things and they had a call for a penalty which was reviewed by VAR but it wasn’t given to them after the whole checking was done.

Brighton and Hove kept to their game as they did well enough to defend and also did cost their opponent an injury in Mudryk who had to be removed.

The Blues were able to make it count after a wonderful header from Cole Palmer in the 34th minute which was assisted by Marc Cucurella to make things 0-1.

Nicolas Jackson had the ball inside the net but it was chopped off before Chelsea headed for the break with a 0-1 lead against Brighton and Hove after 45 minutes of action.

Both teams came into the second half with a lot left to do knowing what was at stake and three points were still for either of them to get.

Chelsea did a lot more from their end trying to add to their lead which came in the 64th minutes after a good delivery from Malo Gusto which saw Christopher Nkunku making it 0-2.

Brighton and Hove carried on until they were given a lifeline after VAR sent Reece James off with a red card after a foul on him which saw him leaving his leg to cut off a player.

Danny Welbeck was able to grab one goal back which came in the additional time with Joao Pedro making the assist as things turned 1-2.

Chelsea claimed a 1-2 victory against Brighton And Hove who did enough but it was good enough as the Blues ensured they took three points which pushed them to 6th.
