‘I Didn’t Speak To Him’ – Southgate REVEAL On Ben White, Sancho And Others

Gareth Southgate addresses the media following an announcement of his provisional list for Euro 2024, MySportDab reports.

The England boss had to take some though decisions which saw him axing out a number of players from the national team.

Gareth Southgate have reacted over the exclusion of a number of players including Ben White, Jordan Henderson and many others.

He had a lot to say when defending his decisions which were based on players performance before the conclusion of the season.

There seems to be a number of new faces also included to the team for a provisional list which would be cut down later on.

Report from Fabrizio Romano confirm the comments which was made public by the England manager over why he didn’t include some players.

Here Is What Was Said:

“It’s difficult for me to leave Henderson out of the squad, he’s always been supportive”.

“The determining factor was the injury he picked up in the last camp.

“He’s missed five weeks and hasn’t been able to get to the intensity required”.

He Added On Ben White:

“I didn’t speak to Ben White. As far as I am aware, he isn’t available to us”.

The decision not to include some players extended to Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford when it comes to players tired to Manchester United.

However, Luke Shaw made the provisional list but Southgate had a lot to say concerning his inclusion which have some merits.

He Said On Luke Shaw:

“He is up against it. He missed a lot football”.

“The fact he’s been our first choice in that position, we’re probably giving him a bit longer.

“I’ve spoke with him but I have to say he’s a long shot to make the final squad”.

Gareth Southgate will be hoping he can guild the side to winning the Euro Championship after losing to Italy in the final during their last outing.
