Juventus have sacked their head coach Massimiliano Allegri, MySportDab reports.

Juventus club statement confirming the dismissal of the Italian football veteran revealed the club have decided to part ways with him following his unruly behavior during the club’s Coppa Italia triumph on Wednesday, May 14, 2024.

The Old Ladies’ club statement reads;

”Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his position as head coach of the men’s first team.

“The exoneration follows certain behaviours during and after the Coppa Italia final that the club deemed incompatible with the values of Juventus and the behaviour that those who represent it should have.

“It ends a period of collaboration, which began in 2014, restarted in 2021 and ended, after the previous three seasons together, with the Italian Cup final.

“The club wishes Massimiliano Allegri good luck in his future endeavours.”

According to Football Italia, Juventus’ decision to part ways with Allegri is no surprise. The report adds crisis was brewing between Allegri and the club’s hierarchy behind the scenes.

After the Coppa Italia win against Atalanta, it was common knowledge Allegri will be sacked as he refused to celebrate the trophy win, and openly confronted the club’s director Giuntoli, including other club officials.

While the reason for his furious bust-up with the club’s officials were unclear, there were projections it was linked to his awareness that he will be sacked by the club despite meeting all benchmarks as set by the club.

It is the second time Juventus have parted ways with Massimiliano Allegri after the same scenario on May 17, 2019 before he returned two years later in 2021.

Juventus have already identified his potential successor in Bologna’s over-performing manager Thiago Motta, who has led Bologna to a third place finish in Serie A above Allegri’s Juventus.

According to o Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have tabled a three-year contract for Thiago Motta but the highly-sought manager has yet to take a decision on his Bologna future.
